The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is a year-round performing and visual Arts Facility. Located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York, the LPCA consistently presents arts of the highest caliber in music, dance and theatre performances, film exhibitions and visual arts presentations.
In addition, the Arts Center provides special arts-in education programs, workshops and residencies for aspiring and renowned artists.
The Arts Center is the home of the Lake Placid School of Ballet, LPCA Children’s Theatre, Community Theatre Players, as well as the Summer home of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.
Accessibility
Tickets and Accessible Seating
Accessible seating is available in all sections and price levels in the LPCA theater. Each accessible seating location has at least one adjacent companion seat. Tickets can be purchased online, in person at the box office, or by calling the box office at 518.523.2512.
To ensure the safety of all patrons, we request that all aisles within the theater are kept clear and that strollers and carriers are left in the lobby.
Parking
Spaces are specially marked for vehicles with tags/placards designated for disability parking outside each of the main entrances:
• Just beyond the carport outside the upper-level gallery entrance to the theater building
• In front of the lower-level gallery entrance to the theater building
• In front of the ceramics studio entrance around the back of the theater building
• At the end of the ramp in front of the annex building
Building Access
Theater Building
The lower-level gallery entrance provides the most direct route to the theater. The upper-level gallery entrance (the carved wooden doors under the carport) provides the most direct route to the box office and the Gallery @ LPCA.
Annex Building
Ramp access is available at the front entrance (facing Algonquin Drive opposite Stewarts).
Assistive Listening
A personal hearing assistance system is available in the theater. Patrons can speak with a box office representative when they arrive for a performance to pick up a device.
Programs
Large print copies can be made for any performance that offers a program insert. Please contact the Box Office (518.523.2512) 48 hours in advance to request a large print copy.
Restrooms
Theater Building
Accessible restrooms are located on the upper level of the gallery and can be reached via the carport entrance. As of July 2019 there will also be accessible restrooms located on the lower level of the gallery.
Annex Building
Accessible restrooms are adjacent to the annex studio on the main level.
